Lake Orion High School

Lake Orion is an established and thriving community of 34,000 people in northern Oakland County. Lake Orion has access to several universities and colleges as well as business and recreational venues. The school district consists of seven elementary schools, three middle-schools and one high school. Lake Orion is a progressive school district offering options, such as year-round elementary school, multiage curriculum, elementary school with arts infused instruction, middle school teaming and state-of-the-art high school that opened in the Fall of 1997.

Enrollment in Lake Orion Community Schools provides our students with many athletic opportunities. Currently, over 1,500 students participate in 29 sports on the District’s 96 teams. Along with 23 other schools, the Dragons are members of the Oakland Activities Association (OAA). During tournament time, the Dragons compete in the Michigan High School Athletic Association’s top division (Class A, Division 1). Historically, Lake Orion has won 150 League, 57 District, and 49 Regional titles to go along with 6 state championships. They are currently the reigning state champs in boys track.
