It has been a challenging stretch for the boys, as 2018 wrapped up with losses to Allen Park and Clarkston, and a tie salvaged with Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard/Greenhills.  2019 started off with a bang as the Dragons beat D1 #7 ranked Rockford 3-2 in a thriller at Michigan State’s Munn Ice Arena.  Goals (2) by Thomas Reath and Andy Potyk (1), combined with 38 saves by Reid Marshall helped LO prevail in a hard fought battle by both sides.  Unfortunately this momentum didn’t carry over into the North/South Showcase in Traverse City as the Dragons fell to Traverse City Central and Kingston the weekend of January 11th/12th.

As the home stretch of the season awaits, there are big games on the horizon, starting Saturday, January 19th against Stoney Creek.  Playing at the Onyx, Stoney Creek is known for a large and loud student section, creating a challenging environment for visitors.  A win would provide a great boost for the Dragons, helping ready them for more road games against Royal Oak (1/23), Midland Dow (1/26), and Romeo (2/2).
