Former Lake Orion hockey player, Dylan Rosen, was recently recognized as the SUNY Chancellor Scholar Athlete. Rosen currently plays NCAA D3 hockey at SUNY Canton in the prestigious State University of New York Athletic Conference. Lake Orion Hockey wants to congratulate Dylan on earning this highly coveted award. Keep up the good work.

Eight players were named to the All-Academic Team for being a student-athlete with 24 or more credits on your USCAA transcripts and having a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher.

J.P. Langlois (Amos, QC), Joey Vocino (Pickering, ON), Dylan Rosen (Clarkston, MI), Trenton Yule (Oswego, NY) and Thomas Crabtree (Knoxville, TN), Beasley, Matsumoto and Sova were all recognized with the distinction.

In addition, Rosen was also recognized with the prestigious SUNY Chancellor's Scholar-Athlete award. The awards are given by the SUNY Chancellor and are the highest award given to a student-athlete in the State University.  Each school nominates student-athletes based on their success in both their respective sport and in the classroom and for other outstanding contributions they make to their institutions.  The winners are then selected by a panel of SUNY athletic directors.

Rosen boasts a perfect 4.0 GPA and was one of the most consistent performers on the ice in his first season of collegiate hockey. He was a top defender for the Roos and was named the team's Rookie of the Year. Rosen finished the season with six points on two goals and four assists and blocked 12 shots.
